Health workers on a covid ward at West Midddlesex University Hospital received a caffeinated boost this week thanks to generous donations from the Twickenham community.

Residents generously gave £970 in just 24 hours after Dr Paul Chapman's bike was stolen from Twickenham Green.

The fundraising page more than bought the 31-year-old junior doctor a new bicycle and even left money to spare.

Dr Chapman spent the rest on a new coffee machine, a set of colourful mugs and countless coffee pods for his delighted colleagues.

His partner Michelle Keaveney shared the news.

"Just a follow up from NHS doctor who had his bike stolen," she said.

"After the Go Fund Me set up by Tiffany raised more than anticipated Paul decided to share the love with his coworkers in West Middlesex Hospital.

"They wanted me to share a couple of pictures and to say a massive thank you to everyone who donated.

"GO TEAM TWICKENHAM! ."
