More than 700 older residents, carers and family members are expected to attend Richmond's flagship Full of Life Fair when it returns to Allianz Stadium.

Hosted by Richmond Council on 30 October, the free event will bring together more than 65 local organisations, services and community groups, offering health checks, activities, advice and support to help residents live longer, healthier and happier lives.

Councillor Piers Allen, Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health and Chair of the Richmond Health and Wellbeing Board, said: "The Full of Life Fair is a celebration of our older residents and their carers who make an immeasurable contribution to our borough.

"Whether you want some practical advice, find out more about looking after your health or try a new sport or activity, or simply meet people and find out what's happening locally, there is something for everybody.

"We have an incredible network of community groups, charities, services and volunteers across the borough, and this is a chance for residents and careers to meet them face-to-face and find out about support and opportunities they may not have known were available to them.

"If you have a friend, neighbour or carer who could benefit from this event, please share the details with them and encourage them to come along."

Attendees can:

• Get moving – try yoga, gentle exercise and other activity sessions throughout the day
• Stay connected – get one-to-one help with technology and advice on recognising and avoiding scams
• Live well – learn about health services and get advice from local health professionals.
• Find community – by connecting with local clubs, charities and volunteering opportunities

The Council said this year will also feature a dedicated health centre where residents can get personalised advice, vaccinations and blood pressure checks.

There will also be information sessions for people living with dementia and their carers to learn more about dementia prevention, risk reduction and support available in the borough.

Visitors can also take a break, connect with others and enjoy free refreshments in the event's all-day café.

Alongside the fair, Richmond Council is also funding a borough-wide programme of community events throughout October.
