A police officer who served in Richmond and across South West London has been dismissed following evidence of sexual misconduct

PC Nathan Hind, who was attached to the South West Borough Command Unit, was found to have sexually touched two female officers on a number of occasions.

Following a proactive investigation by the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS), he has been has been dismissed without notice.

The officer appeared at a misconduct hearing earlier this month over allegations that he breached the standards of professional behaviour in relation to discreditable conduct.

The hearing heard that, on four occasions between October 2019 and July 2020, PC Hind touched two female officers in a sexual way without their consent. Three of the four incidents took place while the officers were on duty.

After considering all of the evidence, the panel found the allegations proven at the level of gross misconduct and PC Hind was dismissed without notice.

He will now be added to the barred list held by the College of Policing. Those appearing on the list cannot be employed by police, local policing bodies (PCCs), the Independent Office for Police Conduct or Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary.

The BCU Commander for South West London, Chief Superintendent Elisabeth Chapple, said: "No-one should be subjected to unwanted sexual behaviour by anyone, let alone a serving officer, it is just totally unacceptable.

"We expect our officers to uphold the highest standards and we do not want officers in the Met who cannot meet those standards

"We must also recognise that this case came to light after officers came forward about these incidents and challenged inappropriate actions. This case shows we will support those who report wrongdoing by officers, whether the report comes from fellow officers or from members of the public.

"We know that rooting out those who act in this way is crucial to increasing the trust and confidence the public have in the Met and we will continue to take action against those who do not hold the same values we do."
