Planned roadworks taking place across Twickenham this week

Find the list of roadworks and road closures Richmond Council has lined up in around Twickenham this week.

Emergency Works

St Margarets Road, Twickenham: Cadent Gas are attending an urgent gas leak in the carriageway on the southern arm of St Margarets Road, junction with St Margarets Roundabout.

There is currently a Southbound directional closure in place to facilitate these works. Traffic is being diverted via the A316, London Road and Arragon Road. Estimated completion date is 20/02/2025. For further information please contact Cadent Gas: 08000 159 057.

Percy Road, Hampton: Thames Water are attending an emergency water leak in the carriageway on Percy Road junction of Oldfield Road, Hampton.

There is currently a road closure in place and traffic is being diverted onto Oldfield Road. Estimated completion date is 23/02/2024. For further information please contact Thames Water: 0800 316 9800.

Oak Avenue, Hampton two-way temporary traffic signals Outside 24 and Road closure on South Road at the junction with Oak Avenue for SGN Gas Utility Works. Estimated completion date 10/02/2025. Contact: SGN 01689 886 766.

Prospect Crescent, Twickenham is closed Outside 83 for Thames Water utility works. Estimated completion date 14/02/2025. Contact: Thames Water 0800 316 9800.

TfL Works

A316 London Road roundabout, Twickenham Lane closures will be in place at this location for TFL highways improvement works. Construction activities are expected to start on 21st October 2024. Works will take place Monday to Friday 8am-5pm and Saturday 8am-1pm.

Cole Park Road, Twickenham will be closed at the Junction with Chertsey Road for TFL A316 Roundabout Works (London Road) commencing on 21/10/2024 to 31/07/2025. Contact: 0343 222 1234.

Crown Road, Twickenham will be closed between Baronsfield Road to St Margarets Road for Richmond Council carriageway resurfacing works on 17/02/2025. NIGHT WORKS. Contact: FM Conways 01732 600 771.

Hanworth Road, Hampton two-way temporary traffic signals Opposite 67 for UKPN utility works commencing on 17/02/2025 to 21/02/2025. Contact: UKPN 0800 028 0709.

High Street, Hampton will be closed Junction of Thames Street for Thames Water utility works commencing on 15/02/2025 to 22/02/2025. Contact: Thames Water 0800 316 9800.

Nightingale Road, Hampton multi-way temporary traffic signals Outside 47A for SGN utility works commencing on 18/02/2025 to 28/02/2025. Contact: SGN 01689 886 766.

Oldfield Road, Hampton will be closed Outside 3 for Richmond Council to install road hump on 23/02/2025. Contact: FM Conways 01732 600 771.

Staines Road, Twickenham multi-way temporary traffic signals Junction with Campbell Road for Openreach utility works commencing on 17/02/2025 to 19/02/2025. Contact: Openreach 0800 316 9800.

  • England vs Italy Sunday, 09/03/2025, 3pm KO, estimated crowd 82,000

The following roads will be closed for approximately two hours before kick-off and after the final whistle:

  • Rugby Road - full closure
  • London Road - partial closure
  • Whitton Road - partial closure
