Richmond Council launches WhatsApp channel for resident updates

Richmond Council announces a new way for residents to stay updated with council updates through its WhatsApp channel.
Through the messaging app residents can receive the latest updates from the council straight to their mobile phones.
Councillor Gareth Roberts, Leader of Richmond Council, said: "We are committed to making it as effortless as possible for our residents to stay informed and engage with us.
"Considering that over 75% of adults in the UK use WhatsApp, it's vital that we share important information through channels that are easily accessible.
"So do follow us to make sure you get important updates promptly."
The council say WhatsApp channels have proven to be an effective way to keep people informed locally, Richmond Police have channels for each of the 18 wards in the borough.
To join, ensure you have the latest version of WhatsApp, and tap the bell icon in the top right corner to turn on notifications, so you never miss an update.
