Proposals have been put forward to convert a three-bedroom duplex into two flats in Twickenham.

Plans by RZ Legacy Limited, who also submitted a separate application to revamp the ground floor of the former Delhi Durbar restaurant, show changes to the first and second floors of 21 Church Street, Twickenham.

If approved, the first floor would be turned into a 42.5 square metre studio flat, while the second floor would become a 51 square metre one-bedroom home.

In its planning application, RZ Legacy Limited argued that "the additional unit would therefore provide a small but valuable contribution to the Council's Housing Supply" and that Richmond Council is "within a tilted balance predicament and therefore, new housing is required."

Two months ago, the same applicant proposed introducing a new shopfront in the style of the previous business at the ground floor unit, which has since been approved.
