An application has been submitted to convert Chow Chow, located at 6 New Broadway in Hampton Hill, into residential unit with one bedroom for two people.

According the planning application, "Since before the pandemic, the owners of the property and business has witnessed steady decline in footfall and revenue.

"As 6 New Broadway is located at the far end of Hampton Hill High Street, footfall has always been secondary for commerce.

"It has been ever more difficult for the restaurant in recent years and the location is one major cause.

"The owners have subsequently stopped the restaurant operation and only provide takeaway service since the pandemic.

"The shop front was no longer an active frontage and a redundant space. As of the end of June 2023, the business ceased trading."

The Application asks for the "proposed scheme is to change the Use Class E to C3 on the ground floor."

Access would remain the same and there are no changes are proposed to the upstairs flat.
