Plans to turn 12 car parking spaces at Hanworth's Homebase into a hand car wash have been pulled from consideration after a previous application was refused.

Waves was refused planning permission for the development at Twickenham Road in July, with a council report saying the loss of parking spaces had not been justified.

Council planners also said the application "fails to demonstrate that the proposal would not negatively impact the safe functioning of the car parking".

A second application for the development was then submitted to Richmond Council in August.

The fresh scheme would also have installed a new concrete wash pad, canopy and a cabin as an office.

The car park is already home to Autoglass and Care Store Direct units.

But the council confirmed on its website that the application was withdrawn from consideration on October 31.
