The Leader of Richmond Council has issued a statement of support for the people of Ukraine, and their family and friends living in Richmond upon Thames.

Cllr Gareth Roberts said: "As more news comes from Ukraine today, my thoughts are with the Ukrainian people.

"The situation is developing quickly. I know we have many people who live or work in this borough who are incredibly concerned for friends and families in Ukraine, and I know many residents will also want to help.

"Please keep an eye on our website and social media channels in the coming days and weeks, where we will continue to share ways for residents to offer support and highlight support available for Ukranian nationals impacted by the invasion."
