Neighbours describe 'shock and disbelief' after car ploughs directly into bedroom window of elderly woman's ground floor flat in quiet cul-de-sac.

Residents in the street said they were shocked by the incident, but did not know what had happened.

Emergency services were called to Belmont Road, Twickenham at around 5pm on Wednesday, 27 March 2024 after reports of an incident.

The crash caused damage to the car and structural damage to the property, but thankfully there were no casualties.

On Thursday, the car was still in the property where it had crashed and the flat was boarded up and cordoned off, a short distance from Twickenham Green off the Staines Road.

The London Fire Brigade has been approached for comment.
