10km Fun Run @ The Turks Head – Sunday, 9 June

The Turks Head annual 10k fun-run is taking place this weekend!

Starting from Orleans Gardens, runners will be seen across Twickenham before reaching the finish line in Marble Hill Park.

Most will not be timed, in keeping with the fun side of a fun-run. However, for those with a more competitive streak, the first six runners, male or female, will have their times taken, with prizes up for grabs.

Don't worry if you're more of a walker than a runner though, as there's a t-Shirt, medal and bumper goody bag for every finisher.

The finish line for Sunday's race will be in the Race Village in Marble Hill Park next to the playground and café.

Twickenham's go-to jazz venue is hosting the Julian Costello Quartet, with its namesake Julian being a south west London local.

The Quartet have just released their new album And All The Birds Were Set Free, featuring guest vocals by Georgia Mancio.

Writing earlier this year, Jazz Views website said: "Julian Costello proved a charming host, introducing the audience to some fine original compositions, and tenor playing of a gentle authority; full of passion, lyricism and invention all delivered with a full and vibrant tone."

The show will run from 7:45pm to 11pm at The Jazz Sanctuary in The Turks Head. General admission tickets are £18.

The shop is also celebrating its eighth birthday on Saturday, with the shop hosting a get-together from 11am to 5pm to say thank you to its customers.

Held at St Mary's Church Hall, Church Street, entrance is a £1 charitable donation for record buyers. Traders can reserve tables for next month's fair by emailing John Martin at [email protected].
