Strawberry Hill House opens daily for summer with family trails and open-air concert

Twickenham's Strawberry Hill House will open its doors seven days a week for the summer holidays, welcoming families and visitors to the historic house.
From Wednesday, 17 July to Saturday, 7 September, the Gothic Revival villa, built in the 18th century by author, collector and politician Horace Walpole, will offer daily access to its house and gardens.
Walpole's fantasy home, known as a masterpiece of Gothic design, was created as a private retreat and showpiece, inspiring his famous novel The Castle of Otranto.
Once open only to a privileged few, with strict rules against children and evening visits, Strawberry Hill House is now reversing history by embracing families and community engagement.

Visitors can enjoy:
- Two family-friendly Faery Trails through the house and gardens
- Picnic experiences under the trees (available to pre-order)
- Afternoon tea from the on-site Roots & Berries Café
In addition, Strawberry Hill will open after hours for a special open-air summer concert on Sunday, 24 August.
The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, known for their nostalgic 1920s and '30s tunes, will perform in the historic gardens.
Gates open at 6pm, with the performance running from 7 to 9pm for visitors to enjoy.
