Twickenham School say it "is proud to announce another spectacular set of GCSE results."

Results were "strong" across the board with the most grade 9s the school has ever achieved.

The Food Technology department at the school secured 100% 4+ grades, with 52% getting grades 7-9.

The Drama department also achieved 86% 4+ grades, with 35% being awarded grades 7-9.

Standout results from other subject areas include: German with 82% 4+, French with 91% 4+, English with 86% 4, and Maths with 74% 4+.

Twickenham School asserts that a number of departments also gained "excellent grades at the highest levels," such as: Physics with 67% Grade 7-9s, Chemistry with 49% Grade 7-9s, and Biology with 57% 7-9.

Highlights from individual students include Zaema securing a grade 9 in every subject, Cagan getting seven grade 9s, and Hermione with five grade 9s and three grade 8s .

Head of Year 11, Julie Johnson, says: "The entire Twickenham School community continues to take great pride in our students, and these results have only heightened that.

"Their hard work and dedication have been evident throughout the year, and their results are a testament to their efforts. While it's always sad to see students move on, we do so with joy!

"We hope they will stay in touch - as we're not done celebrating them just yet!"

Headteacher, Jonathon Lisseman, adds: "I couldn't be more proud of this incredible group of young people. It has been amazing to see their smiles as they opened up their results today.

"A massive thank you goes out to our wonderful staff, who have worked tirelessly with our students.

"We also extend our gratitude to parents for their support at home, and of course, to our governors for their invaluable guidance. We are confident that our students will go on to achieve in whatever path they have chosen next, whether it be sixth form, college, or apprenticeships."

St Richard Reynolds Catholic School is "extremely proud" of its students as 87% achieve a pass rate in maths and English.

The Twickenham school say the results this year are a reflection of the pupil's "hard work, their parents' support and the fantastic colleagues who work at St Richard Reynolds."

Notable results include Beatrice with 11 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s, Livio with 10 grade 9s and three grade 8s, Joseph with nine grade 9s and two grade 8s and Saoirse with seven grade 9s and 3 grade 8s.

71% of students attained a grade 5 in both maths and English also, with 37% of all grades being a 7+ with one in ten being a grade 9.

A St Richard Reynolds spokesperson comments: "We look forward to many students continuing their SRR journey into our successful Sixth Form.

"External applicants should arrive from 11am on Thursday 22nd to enroll and we hope to ensure they join our vibrant community."

Radnor House Twickenham celebrate another set of "outstanding" GCSE results, the school say.

The overall pass rate at the riverside school was 98%, with just under 60% of the grades awarded at 9-7.

Radnor House say pupils again matched last year's number – the best in the school's history not affected by Covid – which is an "exceptional" outcome.

Head, Stephen Carrington, reacts, "Our Year 11 cohort should feel justifiably proud of their GCSE results, both individually and collectively.

"These grades are testament to all of their hard work and perseverance, and notwithstanding the first two years of their senior schooling being affected by the pandemic.

"While results nationally have returned to levels last seen in 2019, our pupils achieved nearly double the percentage of 9/8 grades awarded that year.

"This set of results reflects the determination of the pupils, the guidance of their teachers and the support of their parents and puts them in a very strong position for the next stage in their educational journey. Many congratulations!"

Ahead of results this morning, Richmond Council Leader, Gareth Roberts, said: "Results day, at any level, is always a day of mixed emotions. Obviously, I hope everybody got the results they hoped for, but whatever the outcome it is important to remember this is just a moment in time.

"There'll be plenty of other challenges and, more importantly, plenty of other opportunities in the years ahead.

"And to all the support networks, the teachers and tutors, parents, grandparents, families and friends, your support has been, and will continue to be, prized beyond measure. Thank you!"

On a national level, schools minister Catherine McKinnell said results are expected to be similar to last year, roughly in line with pre-pandemic levels.
