Teddington community sports group steps up to support cricket at Twickenham's Heathfield Junior School
Teddington's community sports group SporTedd has seen its latest donation of £1700 to Heathfield Junior School, Twickenham, lead to the purchase of much-needed cricket equipment.
The school applied for a wide range of equipment including ball feeders, feeder balls cricket nets, cricket throwers and sidekick cricket throwers to the total value of £1715.
SporTedd members James Johnson and Tim Chadwick paid a visit to the school to see the equipment being used.
James said: "We both felt immensely proud to see at first how our funds are being used. The kids were really enjoying themselves and it reinforces the view that our efforts, even when relatively small, compared to big charities, can really make a difference in the community."
Since its launch, SporTedd has donated over £53,000 to almost 50 sports-themed projects across the Richmond Borough
The community group regularly hosts fundraising events in which members are able to attend. The latest sell-out was hosted at Teddington's riverside restaurant, The Wharf, with Match of the Day Host and England legend Gary Lineker in attendance.
SporTedd's next fundraiser will take place on February 7th which will feature former Wimbledon and Question of Sport presenter, Sue Barker.
