A Teddington man has been charged with attempted murder over a stabbing in the centre of Twickenham on Friday morning.

Oliver 'Olly' Huegdon, aged 39, of Kingston Road, is one of two people charged in association with the incident, which happened just before 10am in Queens Road.

A second man, Neeraj Sharma, aged 40, of Queens Road, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Both men appeared in Wimbledon Magistrates court on Monday.

Police, ambulance services and the air ambulance rushed to the aid of the victim, who is in his 40s. The air ambulance landed in a car park opposite The Albany Pub, which is alongside the rail track.

Richmond Police said the victim was taken to hospital and his stab injuries were assessed as not being life threatening.
