After nine weeks of repairs, The Twickenham Museum for local history reopens its doors Friday, 17 May.
Nestled beside St Mary's church on Twickenham riverside, the museum is where residents have lived and worked for over 350 years.
Volunteer led, the small, child-friendly 'historic' house tells the stories of Twickenham, Whitton, Teddington and The Hamptons.
Twickenham Museum's vast collection of local artefacts has something for everyone from ice-age creatures' bones to 4,000 year old beaker pots and tea drinking in the 18th century.
As well as prints, paintings and photographs, there's a new Thames Watermen exhibition to look out for.
Ed Harris from Twickenham Museum says: "The all-time favourite tin-can diver, Professor Cockles, remains safe in his cupboard and arguably the finest model of Hampton Court Palace ever to be rescued from recycling takes pride of place.
"There's a bookshop overflowing with local history covering every inch of the old borough, and much, much more."
If that wasn't enough of a reason to visit the historical centre, Harris adds: "And entry is free!"
Back in March, the museum announced Its closure whilst it underwent 'essential conservation works'.
As well as the conservation works it worked on redisplaying the first floor exhibition room.
