Train disruption affecting Twickenham services due to fault at Clapham Junction

By Cesar Medina   16th Jan 2026

Train services affecting Twickenham are experiencing disruption this morning (Friday, 16 January) following a fault on a train at Clapham Junction, according to South Western Railway (SWR).

The issue is affecting lines running towards Barnes, Hounslow and Richmond, with services delayed, revised or cancelled. Disruption is currently expected to continue until around midday.

SWR said train crew are working closely with fleet maintenance teams to investigate the fault and restore normal service as quickly as possible.

To help passengers complete their journeys, tickets are being accepted at no extra cost on Transport for London bus services between Clapham Junction, Vauxhall, Queenstown Road Battersea and London Waterloo until further notice.

Passengers are advised to speak to station staff or use help points if they require assistance. Those choosing to use local bus services should note that SWR tickets are not valid on local buses unless specifically stated.

Passengers who experience delays may be entitled to compensation and are advised to keep their tickets and check SWR's delay repay policy. To find out more visit SWR's compensation page here.
