Person taken to hospital with 'life-changing injuries' after incident at Whitton railway station

A person has been taken to hospital with life-changing injuries following an incident at Whitton railway station this morning (Tuesday, 7 October).

Emergency services were called at around 10.50am after reports of a casualty on the tracks.

British Transport Police and paramedics attended the scene, and the individual was taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Whitton railway station at around 10.50am today (7 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended, and a person has been taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."

All lines between Twickenham and Staines were closed while emergency services dealt with the incident, with major disruption continuing throughout the afternoon.

South Western Railway (SWR) say all lines have reopened, but disruption is expected until 4pm whilst the the service returns to the scheduled timetable.
