London's transport network is set for disruption as RMT members prepare to strike on the London Underground over the coming weeks.

The industrial action will take place across six 24-hour walkouts between April and June, starting next week.

The first strikes are scheduled from midday on 21 April to 11:59am on 22 April, and again from midday on 23 April to 11:59am on 24 April.

Further strikes are planned for 19–20 May, 21–22 May, 16–17 June and 18–19 June.

TfL (Transport for London) has warned that the action will affect the entire Tube network, with severe disruption expected from midday on strike days and into the following mornings.

However, some reduced services are expected to run on most lines.

Drivers from the ASLEF are not involved, and neither are non-driver RMT members, meaning disruption is expected to be less severe than previous strikes.

The dispute centres on plans for a proposed four-day working week for Tube drivers.

The RMT has raised concerns about longer shifts, fatigue and safety, while TfL says the proposal would be voluntary and could initially be trialled on a single line.

Previous strike action planned for March was suspended following progress in talks, but the dispute remains ongoing.

Further discussions between TfL and union representatives are expected, with the possibility that strikes could be called off if an agreement is reached.
