Organisers behind Twickenham 60s Day have launched a crowdfunder to help fund this year's celebration of the town's rich musical heritage.

The free, family-friendly event, inspired by the music, fashion and culture of the 1960s, is set to return on Sunday, 9 August following the success of last year's festival.

Twickenham 60s Day celebrates the area's unique place in British music history, particularly its links to Eel Pie Island, which famously hosted performances from some of the biggest names of the era.

Following strong community support, organisers are planning to expand the event in 2026, bringing more live music, entertainment, activities and vintage fashion experiences to locations across the town.

Despite the event being free to attend for everyone, organisers are looking to raise £1,000, with the festival already raising £150.

Money raised goes towards paying for performers, musicians and contributors of the event.

Twickenham 60s Day is run on a not-for-profit basis by volunteers from A Taste of Twickenham, alongside Gina Wray of The Eel Pie Club and Linda Birch of The Brewery Market.

The event also receives support from Discover Twickenham BID and FSG Estate Agents.

Rather than relying on major corporate sponsors, organisers say they want to preserve the independent, community-led spirit that has become central to the festival's identity.

A spokesperson for Twickenham 60s Day said: "Every contribution makes a difference, every donation helps keep the music playing and every supporter helps keep this community event free for all."
