Twickenham Film Studios is hoping for more success as a result of its participation in the new mafia movie, The Outfit, which stars British Oscar-winner, Mark Rylance.

The studios, based in St Margarets, was involved in the sound on the latest Bond movie, No Time To Die, and enjoys a remarkable reputation in the UK film industry.

Things can only get better after the owners of TFS were recently given approval for a £10million expansion plan.

The development will provide 60 new jobs on top of the hundreds of people who currently work on the site.

The expansion will create an extra 19,000 sq ft of floor space, including a new TV studio, and is predicted to boost the local economy by some £2.5million a year.

Teams at the Studios, which were established in 1913, have won a host of awards, including an Oscar for sound on Bohemian Rhapsody and a Bafta for sound mixing on the World War One drama, 1917.

The Outfit, which was filmed in London, was written and directed by Academy Award winner Graham Moore, of The Imitation Game.

It tells the story of a Savile Row tailor (Rylance) who has recently relocated from London to Chicago following a tragedy. There, it soon becomes clear that the only people who can afford his expertly crafted garments are cut-throat mobsters.

He is required to walk a tightrope of discretion, but risks a gruesome end when getting too close to his criminal clients leading to a nailbiting battle of wits.
