A rowing club based on Eel Pie Island has taken on two new coaches and is calling for new members.
Phil Bourguignon, award-winning performance coach, and President Jonty Steel, former Remenham Club President, have both joined Twickenham Rowing Club.
The club caters for all ages and abilities and has several squads for differing levels of experience.
Bourguignon is the new Director of Rowing, and Steel is coach of the Masters Men squad.
Bourguignon has worked all over the world and was previously Head Coach at Molesey Boat Club, Zimbabwe Head Coach, and Chief Coach at London Rowing Club.
He will oversee the improvement of all the squads at Twickenham, both junior and adult.
He said: "I have been very taken by the welcoming atmosphere at Twickenham Rowing Club and by the commitment of the captains to develop competitive rowing squads at all levels.
"With their help I plan to build a culture in the club that is based on inclusivity, commitment and excellence.
"As part of that we will be looking for new members to join Twickenham, whether beginners or experienced rowers.
"I firmly believe with the right planning, support and development, we will make Twickenham Rowing Club the club to beat on the upper Thames in no time."
Co-Captain Adrian Pierce said: "It's fantastic that Phil and Jonty are joining the club. Between them they bring a vast amount of experience and we're looking forward to them providing direction and leadership at all levels and making the club a force to be reckoned with again.
"With rowing recently resuming in England as lockdown restrictions have been eased, now is an excellent time for people interested in joining Twickenham Rowing Club to get in touch now.
"We're looking forward to greeting new members."
Twickenham Rowing Club was founded in 1860 and is the third oldest of the rowing clubs on the Thames – a title it shares with Thames Rowing Club.
It is the only club that has access to the stretch of the Thames from Teddington lock to Richmond lock.
The club is also British Rowing's Start Centre for West London, which aims to build the future of GB Rowing by identifying and developing future Olympians.
