Pupils at a Twickenham school are happy and enjoy going to school, according to a recent Ofsted Report.

Clarendon School has retained its 'outstanding' rating following a recent inspection, having first been given the ranking in 2014.

The Egerton Road school was praised for its support of children with special educational needs and disabilities, and for providing a range of opportunities to students.

"Pupils enjoy coming to school," the Ofsted report said.

"They are happy and safe.

"As a result, they attend school on an increasingly regular basis.

"Staff build friendly working relationships with pupils and know them well.

"Partnerships with parents and carers are well developed. The school has high expectations for pupils."

However, the school - which is part of the Auriga Academy Trust - was told the curriculum was not "embedded consistently well" across all subjects.

And the inspection found the trust has not made sure that all aspects of its work are monitored well enough.

Despite this, the findings of the report were overwhelmingly positive.

"Leaders make sure that pupils are effectively supported when they are leaving the school," it added.

"Parents and other providers are involved, regularly, to ensure that pupils are ready for their next steps.

"Staff encourage pupils to express their opinions, and these views are listened to.

"Pupils access a range of opportunities.

"They enjoy sports, residential trips and visits to local landmarks and facilities."

Following the publication of the report, Niall Dumigan, executive headteacher at Clarendon School told Nub News: "We are delighted that our recent Ofsted inspection has recognised the many strengths at Clarendon School, thanks to the incredibly hard work of all of our staff and pupils.

"I could not be prouder of our school community, who all work together to make Clarendon School the special place that it is.

"There are, of course, always ways in which the school can improve, and we have taken on board the constructive feedback provided by the inspection team during their visit."
