Richmond Council announce the date for next Sustainability Forum which includes an exclusive preview of a new art and nature exhibition.

Hosted at Orleans House Gallery, Twickenham, residents will have the opportunity to hear about local projects and share ideas for creating a 'greener future' within the borough.

Event details:

  • Date: Wednesday 26 March
  • Time: 6 to 7.30pm
  • Location: The Coach House, Orleans House Gallery, Orleans Road, Twickenham, TW1 3BL

Attendees will have the chance to participate in interactive discussions about the Council's new strategy for 2025-30 and help shape the final version before it is presented in June.

The strategy will drive the Council toward its goal to become a carbon-neutral Council by 2030 and a Net Zero Borough by 2043 and has five key focus areas:

  • Making buildings more energy efficient
  • Expanding sustainable transport and reducing air pollution
  • Enhancing green spaces and supporting biodiversity
  • Moving toward a zero-waste economy
  • Preparing the borough for climate impacts, like flooding and extreme heat

In addition to these discussions, attendees will have an exclusive preview of the Cultural Reforesting exhibition, opening at Orleans House Gallery on Thursday 27 March.

This exhibition explores the role of art and culture in strengthening our connection with nature and tackling the climate crisis.

Residents will also receive updates on the Council's Community BlueScapes flood resilience programme and its new Adaptation and Resilience Strategy

Those that cannot make the Forum can still share their views on the Council's draft Climate and Nature Strategy before 5 May through its consultation hub.
