A new image from a local resident reveals that Thames Water has begun repair work to fix a leak on Amyand Park Road, Twickenham this evening (Wednesday, 3 December).

Earlier this morning, residents reported the leak had been running for "more than 24 hours" before Thames Water launched its investigation.

The company found that a mains clamp repair was needed to stop the leak.

Although Thames Water said it would begin work tomorrow (Thursday, 4 December), repairs to the leak are taking place on the footpath outside Amyand Park Chapel today.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: "We investigated the reported leak on Amyand Park Road and concluded that repairs were needed.

"We're working as quickly and safely as possible to get this sorted and we will be dispatching a team tomorrow [4 December] to implement a fix.

"We're sorry for any inconvenience this has caused to residents."
