Friday, Sept 16 - Stringfever – Live In Concert

The internationally acclaimed Stringfever quartet - composed of three brothers and a cousin - , have entertained around the world, from private performances for the Royal family to a packed audience at Madison Square Gardens.

Coming from a family of musicians it was always likely that the Broadbent boys were going

to follow their fathers into the music profession.

Giles and Ralph studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Graham at the Royal College. Giles went on to play lead violin for several West End shows. Youngest brother Neal was due to study cello at the Guildhall School of Music … but instead he was kidnapped by his brothers to be the cellist in their new group – Stringfever!

Saturday, Sept 17 - Wall to Wall Bowie Show

Acclaimed British pianist and 'artist in residence' Janette Mason presents a fresh look at Bowie's songs, with new arrangements, jazz twists, and an altogether unique approach.

Janette is joined by two incredible vocalists, David McAlmont, best known for his hit Yes with Bernard Butler and Dance Diva extraordinaire Sam Obernik. They each bring a unique theatricality to Bowie's material supported by a band of world class musicians.

They have been performing to sell out audiences for the last nine years and acquired a loyal fan base along the way.

During one hot, Midsummer's Eve, the aristocratic Miss Julie and her servant engage in a dangerous dance of desire, intimacy and betrayal.

Thursday, Sept 15 - The Cinelli Brothers

The Cinelli Brothers is a project born out of a common passion for the electric Chicago and Texas blues from the 60s and 70s, when brothers Marco (guitarist and lead singer) and Alessandro (drummer) decided to form an explosive team showcasing original repertoire in the style of Chess, Stax and Motown.

Joining the brothers on stage, Enzo Strano on bass and Tom Julian-Jones on harmonica and guitar.

For the second consecutive year, they have been nominated Best Blues Band at the UK Blues Awards.

But when their friendship develops into something more serious, Gene's fate becomes tragically intertwined with hers and they can't escape the legacy of racism and the tensions within their own community.

When Sid Field died at his home in Richmond in 1950 aged just 45 he was the king of British comedy, but today he is largely forgotten. In this illustrated talk we'll bring this hilarious and modest star of the music hall and the West End back to life and explore his enduring influence on generations of comedians from Tony Hancock to Catherine Tate.

Saturday, Sept 16 – Blackwater Valley Wind Quintet

Enjoy an eclectic performance by a group of professional wind players in unique surroundings.

The quintet bring their diverse repertoire – ranging from George Gershwin and Scott Joplin to The Beatles and Ralph Vaughan Williams – to the visitor centre.

All proceeds will go towards the charity's employment service, helping veterans with health conditions across England and Wales to transform their lives.

The 2022 ticketed event takes place in and around a large marquee on Barnes Green, featuring food and drink from around the world..

A carefully selection of exhibitors selling speciality food and drink to sample and take away. In the outside street food area, you can enjoy freshly cooked food from France, Germany, Colombia, Ecuador, Thailand and the Caribbean and eat them whilst listening to live music.

New for this year is a Cocktails & BBQ tent from Barnes' The Nest café as well as a street food van from Cote Barnes and BCA's Pimm's made to its secret Barnes Fair recipe.

Thursday, September 15 - Bowie, Python, Bond, Amy Winehouse and Me: John Altman in Conversation

The hitmaker, film composer, and raconteur shares 50 years of revealing and hilarious stories from the frontline of show business as he launches his memoir, 'Hidden Man: My Many Musical Lives'.

John has worked with an almost surreal who's who of film and music icons, from David Bowie, Prince and Michael Jackson to George Michael, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart and Pharrell Williams.

He was Van Morrison's musical director for many years, arranged Always Look on the Bright Side of Life for Monty Python; put together Bjork's classic 'It's Oh So Quiet'; and mentored the pre-fame Amy Winehouse.

Until Sept 25 - Threads of Time: Eight Women Print Group Show

Eight Women Print is a collective formed during the lockdown. As the artists moved online, they adapted to new ways of creating and developing their individual and collective practices from their homes across the globe in India, Spain and the UK. Each member of the group has explored ideas and experiences that have resonated during the lockdown periods, both local and global, of how we have all adapted, and are still adapting, to different ways of living and being. Their own personal experiences of isolation, upheaval and anxiety as well as wider global experiences such as migration and conflict are explored.

The work will be predominantly printmaking, with sculptural and textile elements woven through the exhibition.
