Sunday - Gary Crowley Presents an Evening with Nick Heyward

Celebrate the start of summer and get ready to reminisce about some fantastic days with one of pop's finest songwriters, Nick Heyward.

Creatively ambitious from the start, Nick began his career as the songwriter and frontman of Haircut 100.

Marrying Chic with The Monkees, they rode the post-new-romantic-funk-wave of the early 1980s burning brightly, but briefly. Following four top ten singles and their debut album, Pelican West, going platinum, the band parted ways.

North of a Miracle, Heyward's first solo album saw him working with The Beatles engineer Geoff Emerick to craft pop landscapes incorporating full orchestra, a jazz band and catchy pop-funk all knitted together with top-flight songwriting.

The album went Gold with three top 20 singles, 'Take That Situation', 'Blue Hat for a Blue Day', and 'Whistle Down the Wind'.

Bonfire night 2019 and Sheila, Denise, Julie, and Fay are Team C in Pennine Mineral Water Ltd.'s annual outward bound team-building weekend. Somehow, Marketing Manager Sheila has been nominated team leader, and, using her cryptic crossword solving skills, has unwittingly stranded her team on an island in the Lake District.

Until May 28 – World Premiere of Pamela Carter's The Misfortune of the English

Inspired by true events: a story of (mis)adventure and blind optimism, nationhood, and courage in the face of disaster.

On the morning of 17 April 1936, a group of 27 schoolboys, led by their teacher and newly arrived in Nazi Germany, set out on the first of a seven-day walking tour of the Black Forest.

By 8pm that evening, local villagers were searching for them in a blizzard.

World Harmony Orchestra – Richmond and Putney Unitarian Church, Ormond Road

Saturday, 2.30pm - Kathleen Linton- Ford and Sara Shehata.

Versatile singer Kathleen Linton-Ford offers opera, show and pop tunes, while pianist, Sara Shehata, brings classical, jazz and contemporary pieces.

As a social enterprise, the organisation raises funds and awareness for charitable organisations and support vulnerable people through music

National Archives, Kew - The 1920s: Beyond the Roar

Get closer to the 1920s with exhibition tours which reveal the surprising stories from a decade of change, crisis and defiance.

The exhibition uses the recent release of the 1921 Census - an historic snapshot of the nation - as its keystone.

Tours, some of which are designed for a British Sign Language audience, take place on the dates and times listed at The National Archives in Kew, and last approximately 30 minutes.

Thursday – The Sandy Denny Experience

A celebration and tribute to Sandy Denny's defining role in British Folk-Rock Music performed by the Julie July Band.

In Sandy's brief career she left a legacy of beautiful, haunting original and traditional compositions with Richard Thompson calling her 'The greatest artist of her generation'.

Inspired by Sandy's work and the wider folk, rock and blues movements of the '60s and '70s, the band will also perform songs from their own albums Lady of the First Light and Wonderland.
