The Exchange, Twickenham

Singer-songwriter of pop, jazz, rock and R&B, Sarah Jane Morris, joined by guitarist Tony Rémy, drummer Martyn Barker, bassist Henry Thomas, and guitarist Tim Cansfield.

They will be singing the songs of John Martyn from their album 'Sweet Little Mystery', which celebrates the genius of the songwriter.

They won an Edinburgh award from the festival just before the first lockdown and would have toured the show all over the world.

Get to taste award-winning beer and ale from Twickenham Fine Ales, Sambrooks, Park Brewery, Stardust, Tiny Rebel and more!

The recently awarded Champion Beer of London, Twickenham Fine Ales' 'Naked Ladies' will be available, but may run out before the Festival ends!

The Festival is open daily from 12 noon until 10.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with entry at £10 to include beer vouchers and a glass (with refundable deposit).

October 29 - Celebrating Diwali, the festival of light

The Vasda Punjab Bhangra group will lead a procession through the streets with music and dancing, leaving from Arthur's on Twickenham Green at 1.00pm, making their way down Heath Road, King Street and back up Church Street. The finale will be a performance on the corner of Church Street and Water Lane between 3 - 3.30pm where Discover Twickenham will also be handing out sweets and bubbles to the crowd and families attending.

Eel Pie Island Museum – Richmond Road

To mark the 35th anniversary of Black History Month in the UK, the museum is hosting a celebration of Black culture and shines a light on some of the many inspiring people of African and Afro-Caribbean heritage in Richmond, who have made the borough a richer, more vibrant place.

From jazz to reggae, this exploration of Black musicians is not simply Black history but Richmond's history. By learning about our culturally diverse past and traditionally unheard voices, we can look forward to the next exciting chapter together.

October 27-28 - Gothic Twilight Tour

Halloween is fast approaching, so join a tour of the birthplace of the first gothic horror novel, 'The Castle of Otranto'. Horace Walpole's fairytale castle by the Thames is a place of dreams and fantasy.

Turner's House, Twickenham

Until October 31 - Between the Sheets: Turner's Nudes

There have been rave reviews in the national press for this exhibition concentrating on a rarely seen side of Britain's greatest artist.

Loved as the master of landscapes and seascapes such as The Fighting Temeraire, Hannibal Crossing the Alps and Norham Castle, few know that Turner's sketchbooks also contain depictions of the female form.

Yet Turner was a compulsive recorder of his life and travels, and produced drawings and watercolours of models, sexual encounters, literary fantasies, and his lovers such as Sophia Booth.

This small-scale exhibition is one of the first to look at Turner's engagement with the naked female form, specifically within intimate and erotic contexts and provides invaluable insight into the man, and his attitude to and relationship with women.

This exhibition is possible thanks to a generous loan from Tate.

Alice and Phil lay bare every messy, painful, hilarious, irritating, delightful, loving detail of their relationship as it bends and shifts to everything life throws at them.

Writer Jack Thorne (Channel 4's Skins and This Is England) thrillingly amplifies disabled voices in this witty, impassioned and intimate play.

Following its 2015 premiere at Edinburgh Festival Fringe as a Graeae Theatre Company and Theatre Royal Plymouth co-production, The Solid Life of Sugar Water went on a UK tour and transferred to the National Theatre for a critically acclaimed run in 2016.

October 28 - Be Strictly Spooktacular

A fun-filled Halloween-themed dance experience, under the tutelage of renowned Richmond dancer, Andrew Cuerden.

October 29 – Pumpkin fun and games

From noon, the new stage and public space on Whittaker Avenue, at the top of the terrace on Richmond Riverside, will host a family-friendly event with a give-away of free pumpkins.

To top all this off there will be a free face painter for the children and families to create your favourite look, whether you want to be a butterfly, princess or a spooky monster.

Escape to the vibrancy of Mexico this autumn for a visual spectacular within Kew Gardens iconic Temperate House.

Discover bold new artistic and horticultural installations across the Temperate House by renowned Mexican artist Betsabeé Romero, designer Fernando Laposse and UK award winning garden designer Jon Wheatley. The works each reflect the beauty and colour of Mexican culture and its deep connection with plants and the natural world.

From the creators of 'Christmas at Kew,' a spooky fun-filled trail for all the family – new for 2022!

As Halloween creeps closer and the days shorten, a mysterious mist falls across the gardens at Chiswick House & Gardens.

Join with family and friends to wander from dusk into darkness between one ghostly space to another. Watch out for flickering flames in a fiendish fire garden, daring fire artists and grinning pumpkins aglow. Wind your way through the illuminated haunted woods filled with creepy neon cobwebs, ghastly ghouls, wicked witches, larger-than life spiders and beastly bats.

Then discover a Secret Garden filled with more hidden surprises. Could it be a trick of the light or do things really do go 'bump in the night'?

Until November 30 - Sofia Kirwan-Baez

Known for her versatility, talent and humorous charm, vocalist and pianist Sofia Kirwan-Baez returns to the Piano Lounge to play your song requests, spanning everything from pop to opera. Currently a scholar at the Royal College of Music, Sofia recently performed in Poulenc's 'La Voix Humaine' at the OSO. As the original artist who launched our Piano Lounge series back in Autumn 2020, we are delighted to welcome her back for more stunning sets.

October 27-28 – Family show Whoopsie

What do the microwave, superglue and crisps all have in common? They were all invented by accident! Two silly scientists are on the edge of a perfect experiment - and the results could seriously change the world!

October 29 – Family comedy show

The OSO is partnering with Aruhan Galieva to host a day of bat walks and entertainment in aid of the Bats Conservation Trust, with comedians, musicians, conservationists and more.

Aruhan, who is a musical comedian, writer, actor and activist, has performed at the Globe, RSC, Almeida, Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall.
