A workshop was destroyed by fire on Broad Lane in Hampton on Boxing Day evening, with crews from Twickenham among those attending the incident.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) said six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to the blaze at 7:44pm on Friday, 26 December.

The fire completely destroyed a single-storey workshop, while part of a nearby woodshed and a swimming pool outhouse were also damaged.

Two people were assessed at the scene by London Ambulance Service (LAS) crews. No further details about their injuries have been released.

Fire crews from Twickenham, Feltham, Heston, Kingston and surrounding stations were sent to the scene after the Brigade's control room received 35 calls reporting the fire.

The fire was brought under control by 10:19pm.

LFB confirmed the cause of the fire is under investigation.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this story incorrectly identified a different garage on Broad Lane as the location of the fire. Nub News apologises for this mistake. Broad Lane Garage remains open for business and was not involved in the incident.
