A highly allegorical coming-of-age story set in a near-future Tokyo. Living under the threat of a catastrophic earthquake, the government has exercised swingeing powers to impose societal controls. Two best friends about to graduate from high school find themselves under particular scrutiny after pulling a prank on the principal, who responds by imposing a surveillance regime. Caught between the oppressive security system and a darkening national political situation, the two respond in contrasting ways.
60 non-member tickets are available to purchase for this screening. Non-member tickets are £5 (full-time students £3) and can be purchased in advance from The Exchange's Box Office: online at http://exchangetwickenham.co.uk/events, by telephone 020 8240 2399 or in person.
