A woman was rushed to hospital this afternoon after a major on Twickenham's York Street.

The crash happened at around 2.15pm and involved a bus and a pedestrian.

The York Street A305 is now closed to traffic, with motorists urged to take alternative routes.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson told Nub News: "We were called at 2.15pm today (24 August) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a bus and a pedestrian on London Road, Twickenham.

"We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, and an incident response officer. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

"A woman was treated at the scene and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority."
