A coffee shop with mixed reviews shuts the doors of its first ever Twickenham branch.

After four years of trading, Pret A Manger has closed its 21 King Street location which had an average review rating online.

According to 69 users from Google reviews, Pret A Manger Twickenham received an average score of 2.8 out of five stars.

One user, who gave it five stars, said two months ago: "Always a great time at Pret one of my favourite branches nice and open, very busy on the day."

However another, who left one star, explained four months ago: "I hadn't visited for a few months, but this used to be one of my favourite spots for both food and service.

"Unfortunately, my visit yesterday morning was disappointing.

"Despite it being quiet, the lady taking our simple two-drink order seemed impatient, even making an audible sound of frustration.

"After paying, I noticed my loyalty stamps hadn't been added.

"When I asked, the response felt dismissive, with confusion between stamps and vouchers.

"Although the transaction was redone, it was handled reluctantly and the issue still wasn't resolved.

"In the end, I chose to leave rather than continue. It's disappointing to see such a decline from a place I once rated highly."

Pret A Manger revealed to Nub News that it was "sad to be leaving Twickenham".

A Pret spokesperson said: "Closing a shop is never a decision we take lightly and it has been a pleasure to serve customers in Twickenham.

"While we're sad to be leaving Twickenham, we hope customers continue to visit us in our other shops across Greater London."

The nearest open Pret A Manger locations to Twickenham are its Lower George Street and Kew Road branches.
