Twickenham, London and UK is set for one of the best eclipse in almost three decades.

Residents can witness a partial solar eclipse tomorrow evening (Wednesday, 12 August).

A solar eclipse is when the Sun's light is blocked from reaching Earth as the Moon passes between them.

This creates a shadow from the Moon, causing an area of almost total darkness on the Earth around 150 miles wide called the umbra.

According to the BBC, Dublin will see a partial eclipse covering 94% of the Sun, Paris 92%, London 90%, Berlin 85%.

The entire UK will be covered by the partial shadow of the Moon, with people in Cornwall and Pembrokeshire seeing about 95% eclipse, and most of the country seeing about 90% coverage

Those in Spain tomorrow are in for chance to see a total eclipse in Bilbao, Valencia and Palma, in Mallorca, with both Barcelona and Madrid seeing more than 99% coverage.

Experts say to enjoy the best view of the eclipse would be to the west and if skies are clear.

Depending on where you are in the country, the phenomenon will peak between 19:02 BST and 19:16 BST.

It is advised not to look directly at the sun without special eclipse glasses as it can cause permanent eye damage.
