Two restaurants in the heart of Twickenham have shut for the summer holidays.

Bella Vita and Greek Cook & Grill on London Road both closed their doors so that staff could enjoy some time off.

On a sign put up at the entrance, the Italian eatery said: "Please note that we will be closed for our summer holidays from the 27th of July to 27th of August.

"If you have any enquiries during this time, please feel free to email us. Thank you for your understanding.

"We look forward to welcoming you back when we reopen."

In a similar notice, the Greek restaurant revealed that it would return with "exciting improvements".

Greek Cook & Grill said: "We will be closed for summer holidays from Monday, 27th July.

"We'll be taking a short break to recharge and make some exciting improvements.

"We can't wait to welcome you back soon with a fresh new look, exciting changes and, of course, all your favourite Greek dishes."
