It's amazing to see how many Twickenham events are going on in the coming weeks and months - how lucky we are to live where we do!

Our top pick for this week is a twilight tour around a Gothic castle in the heart of Strawberry Hill!

Strawberry Hill House is opening up its gates at twilight for a 90-minute walking tour next week.

The Twilight Tour will be the first in a series and will take place on Wednesday August 25 at 7.30pm.

Strawberry Hill House, built by 17th Century English Gothic Writer Horace Walpole, is described as a "little gothic castle" and is one of Strawberry Hill's most fascinating tourist attractions.

The house said: "Explore Horace Walpole's castle at twilight for a 90 minute tour of the house, that is gothic and gloomth at this most eerie time of day."

Drinks will be served from 7pm and the tour commences at 7.30pm.

Getting there

The house is situated on Waldegrave Road, a 6-minute walk from Strawberry Hill Station.

Enter via the front door, situated through the double red gates on the horseshoe drive.
