Two new flats are set to be created above a Twickenham eatery after plans were approved by Richmond Council.

Permission has been granted to convert the first floor space above Megan's into two, two-bed flats.

Currently the space at the King Street business is used as staff office and storage space.

But EL Retail No2 Ltd has now been given the green light to repurpose the space.

Megan's remains open for business and will not be impacted by the works.

An application submitted to Richmond Council said: "The first floor is currently used in conjunction with the ground floor restaurant, hosting staff office space, spill-over storage and other minor back-of-house uses.

"The proposal seeks to convert the first floor into two residential dwellings, retaining the Use Class E floorspace at ground floor level (which is to continue being used as a restaurant)."

Plans were approved at the end of December.
