In a pickle! Workshop from award-winning Rachel de Thample

Award-winning author, chef, forager and fermenter, Rachel de Thample, will be hosting a workshop on preserving techniques at Petersham Nurseries.

Inspired by the kitchen garden at Petersham Nurseries, guests will be given the opportunity to jam, pickle, ferment, dry and infuse,

As the nation looks to become more self-sufficient, by the end of the day, participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to preserve their very own produce.

The workshop includes welcome teas and coffees, a tour of the Petersham Nurseries kitchen garden, where guests will hand-pick an array of their own seasonal produce to preserve, a two-course lunch and a copy of all the recipes from the day to take home.

Rachel has worked in the kitchens of Marco Pierre White, Heston Blumenthal and Peter Gordon.

She is the author of Less Meat, More Veg, FIVE and Teas & Tonics and she and has served as Commissioning Editor of Waitrose Food Illustrated, Head of Food for the pioneering organic box scheme Abel & Cole.

She has helped set up numerous local food initiatives, including the award-winning Crystal Palace Food Market. And she has taught the River Cottage preserves and fermentation courses.
