Such is the demand for good quality hospitality staff that renowned Petersham Nurseries, with its fairytale setting, is going all-out to win over a new generation of recruits.
While the establishment was originally admired for its horticultural prowess, garden, nursery and shop, it is now a popular destination for high quality food and drink.
As well as providing a discreet eaterie for many local celebrities, it has also attracted a string of famous names, such as Madonna, Mick Jagger, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.
The establishment is hosting a Recruitment Open Day on Monday (September 20) where applicants will be extremely well looked after.
The roles they are looking to fill include waiting staff for the restaurant; a bar assistant; car park attendant; site gardener; site cleaner; a porter; commis chef; pastry chef; and chef de partie.
Applicants not only have the chance of winning a job with one of the finest eateries in the area, each one will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a lunch for two at Petersham Nurseries Café.
And no-one goes away empty handed, with all attendees receiving a Petersham goodie bag.
The day will start with a brief introduction from the General Manager, followed by talks from heads of departments and a tour of the site. The morning will end with a light lunch whilst informal individual interviews take place.
It emerged this week that the number of vacancies across all sectors in the UK has topped 1million for the first time on record. Many of these positions are in the hospitality sectors.
Applicants are asked register their interest on the Petersham Nurseries website and bring along their CV to the recruitment event, at Church Lane, off Petersham Road, which begins at 10am with a view to ending at around 12.30pm
Petersham Nurseries is a family business started in the grounds of the Queen Anne property by Gael and Francesco Boglioni. Described as a 'lifestyle destination', its success in recent years has been driven by their eldest daughter, Lara, along with other family members.
Just recently, the establishment was named as one of the best places in London for lunch by Condé Nast Traveller for the fairytale setting with its high glass ceilings and collections of both vibrant and fragrant plants.
