Twickenham School has seen an impressive resurgence with inspectors from Ofsted giving it a resounding 'Good' rating.
The school had a troubled past and was in special measures until a new leadership team took over in 2016, bringing a dramatic improvement in teaching standards and performance.
An official inspection in 2018 recognised the school was moving in the right direction and now it has been officially rated as 'Good'.
The school, in Percy Road, Twickenham, said: "After weeks of bubble closures and two national lockdowns, Twickenham School welcomed Ofsted inspectors on 6th and 7th July to evaluate its progress since its last inspection.
"Students, staff and parents rose to the challenge and spoke positively about the journey the school has taken to be such a great place to learn. "The Ofsted report gave a resounding good judgement recognising many of the School's strengths and sending out a strong message to its community, primary parents and children to visit the school during the forthcoming open events."
The turnaround was ushered in by headteacher, Ms. Assal Ruse, a former deputy head at Waldegrave School, who said: "Twickenham School offers its local community a positive and enjoyable place to learn.
"I feel strongly that students have a right to an outstanding quality of education and our school staff will strive for this relentlessly.
"The turnaround is all down to staff and their hard work. We work as a team and we all believe in and are passionate about our vision.
"We have very high standards and just as high expectations of ourselves and of our students. Our slogan is Aspire, Achieve, Enjoy. We aim to instil confidence in our students so they aspire as high as they can."
Twickenham School was established in 2016, rising from the ashes of Twickenham Academy, which had received it's funding as part of the Government's sponsored academies programme.
The School has recently joined the Bourne Education Trust, a multi-academy trust of 20 primary and secondary schools, two of which include Hampton High and Teddington School. It plans to work with its local partner schools in widening opportunities for its students.
