UPDATE: Railway line trespasser near Twickenham arrested for trespassing and racially aggravated public order
By Tilly O'Brien 7th Apr 2026
South Western Railway services between Twickenham, Shepperton and Kingston were facing disruption this morning (Tuesday, 7 April).
The issue was due to a trespasser on the line between Teddington and Hampton Wick, with all tracks being blocked.
Passengers were warned that trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes, or revised.
The trespasser was arrested on suspicion of trespassing and racially aggravated public order and South Western Railway (SWR) confirmed that lines reopened at around 9.30am on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police told Nub News: "We were called to the railway line in Teddington at 6.23am on 7 April to reports of a trespasser at the location.
"Officers attended and a man was arrested on suspicion of trespass and obstructing the railway. He was further arrested for a racially aggravated public order offence before being taken to police custody."
