Artists from across the borough will be opening their homes, studios, and all manner of artistic venues to the public for two weekends this month.

Organised by Arts Richmond, the event is an opportunity to visit all manner of creative spaces right on your doorstep – there are 19 stops in Twickenham alone – usually hidden away from prying eyes.

Guides are available from any Richmond Library, the Visit Richmond stand at Richmond Station, or from this link, so get one quick and start planning your route!

Venues will be open 11am to 5pm. Once in the area, visitors are encouraged to 'continue your adventure on foot or by bus, boat, or bike'.

One for the collectors out there: head over to nearby Teddington for the West London Postcard Fair.

Organisers expect 'tens of thousands of postcards, many [of] Twickenham, Richmond, Kingston, Kew, Hamptons and Teddington'.

Joining them will be photos and books of the area, some around 150 years old – and, of course, light refreshments will be available all day.

The fair's 14 dealers will be selling and trading from 10am to 4pm at Teddington Baptist Church. Admission is £2.

This opportunity to view HKWR's rolling stock of 1960s diesels as well as over ten model railway layouts on show makes for a great day out for families and everyone who loves railways and steam.

There are steam train rides, face painting, a play train, and a picnic area with hot and cold drinks and ice creams available, plus a 7 ¼ gauge steam sit-on train for children will be running all day.

Tickets are £4 for children and £8 for adults.

Help reduce your waste footprint and get your bits and bobs repaired.

Twickenham Repair Café says: "Not only will we do our best to sort them out, but we will show you how to do it for next time!"

There is no need to book, but the team asks you only bring one item with you as the cafe can get very busy.

The repair cafe runs from 10:30am to 1pm on the third Saturday of every month.
