A popular health and beauty chain has submitted a planning application to bring a new branch to Twickenham.

Superdrug has put forward plans to open a new location at the site of Home Needs discount store - which is closing next month.

As a result of the Twickenham Riverside regeneration, the company closed its original King Street branch two years ago that was located across the road.

However, 18-22 King Street was formally home to Poundland, but now could house the fourth Superdrug branch in the borough.

The chain plans to install new design panels, externally illuminated signage and a projecting sign with trough light.

Additionally, it wants to bring pink LED strips internally around each window display, as well as vinyl graphic designs to the shop front glazing.

For now, Home Needs is enjoying a clearance sale before its departure in April, which manager Savwarei says has encouraged more people to shop at the store.
