Rail and underground services across the area face serious disruption this weekend.

Train lines in the Twickenham area will be closed on Saturday and Sunday for maintenance work, according to South Western Railway.

Travellers in south west London have been hit by delays in recent weeks, much of it caused by problems related to maintenance, including equipment being left on the tracks.

Commuters will be keeping their fingers crossed that services will return to normal in time for journeys on Monday morning.

Over the weekend, a revised rail service will run between London Waterloo and Reading, but these will be diverted away from Twickenham and run through Barnes and Feltham with extra stops at both Barnes and Hounslow.

Bus services will run from Twickenham through to either Barnes or Hounslow.

Teddington rail services will also be effected and a replacement bus service will run between Teddington and Barnes via Twickenham.

On Saturday, there will be no District Line services between Richmond and Turnham Green, which will be replaced by bus services.

There will also be no overground service between Richmond and South Acton with replacement buses operating between Richmond and Acton Central.

On Sunday, there will be no overground service between Richmond and Willesden Junction. The District Line will run between Richmond and Gunnersbury with a replacement bus for the rest of the journey.
