A Young Writers' Festival

With Richmond Literature Festival soon back at venues across the area, Arts Richmond is looking to find stars of the future.

A Young Writers' Festival and competition has been launched to allow youngsters across the area to demonstrate their skills.

The work can be in a range of forms from simple stories and descriptive writing to poems, playlets and even lyrics for songs.

The competition is being run out of the ETNA centre in East Twickenham and involves four categories - School Years 4 and under; School Years 5 and 6; School Years 7 to 9; and School Years 10 and over.

All shortlisted entrants will be invited to a gala awards event in a prestigious venue Spring 2022. And, importantly, Arts Richmond will appoint a Junior and Senior Laureate who will be given opportunities to write about events taking place in the borough, for possible publication.

Entrants must not exceed 500 words, or 25 lines for a poem, while all entries must be in typed format.

The deadline for submissions is December 3, while entries should be submitted to ETNA Community Centre Room 21, 13 Rosslyn Road, Twickenham, TW1 2AR, or via email to [email protected]
