If you have been looking for a way to help your community, the Richmond Volunteer Fair can provide the pathway.

The Fair will take place from 2pm-6pm on Thursday – May 26 - at Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Community College (RHACC).

The event offers a great opportunity to meet local charities, community groups and other organisations that are actively recruiting volunteers and trustees.

It also offers the perfect chance to find out what is involved in terms of time and skills by having a chat with others who are already volunteering.

The Fair is organised by Richmond Volunteer Service, which is the principal infrastructure support body for the hundreds of organisations that make up the voluntary and community across the borough.

A spokesman said: "Whether you have a few hours to fill and would like to help others, or are looking for a new challenge, the borough has hundreds of charities and groups where you could make a difference.

"he stallholders will include groups working in the areas of sport, health, culture, children and young people, neighbourhood support and more – all with interesting and, sometimes, surprising roles you could get involved with.

"They will be ready and waiting to provide ideas, information and inspiration for new volunteering experiences."
