Police launch fresh appeal for witnesses following death of man in e-scooter crash in Twickenham

Police are appealing once again for witnesses to come forward following the death of man who was in an e-scooter crash in Twickenham last Thursday.

The man, 53-year-old Twickenham business owner Anthony Mumford, was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition and sadly died from his injuries this morning, 22 July.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8543 5157. Alternatively, call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 6701/15Jul.

Police were called at 19:10hrs on Thursday, 15 July following reports that a man had fallen from an e-scooter in Heath Road.

Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service, and Mumford was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved in the incident.

A fundraiser has been set up by local residentsto support his family, and has now raised £10,904 (as of Thursday 5pm).
