Complex Care Support Worker in London, TW2. A fantastic opportunity for a professional female support worker to support an intelligent young woman, aged 23, with a spinal injury. £33,696.00+ gross per annum (for 3 x 12-hour shifts).

Automatic adapted vehicle to use on shift Essential: Experience of working with people with physical disabilities, providing personal care and manual handling, using hoists. About this client/child: Emily (23) is a positive and intelligent young woman. She has recently graduated from Roehampton University, where she was studying for a BA in History. She has a busy life involving social clubs, going to church, travelling abroad, shopping, socialising and eating out with friends, going out to the cinema and more! Emily loves to cook her own healthy food and likes to bake pastries as well. Emily lives at home with her parents. Emily has a Spinal cord injury, has a tracheostomy, and requires ventilation 24/7. She is a wheelchair user and requires full personal care and manual handling assistance, including the use of hoists.

Overview of role: Emily has a full team of Support Workers to assist her 24/7 with her everyday tasks, personal care including washing her clothes, towels and bed linens, all complex health needs, and monitoring. Her support worker will assist Emily to get washed, dressed, and ready to start the day, and help plan and assist throughout. Emily needs someone who is good at keeping to a routine, so all complex care equipment is maintained, and her personal hygiene and day-to-day needs are met. Emily requires regular pressure relief throughout the day, which needs to be factored into social occasions. Emily s support workers attend all social events with her as she needs consistent monitoring and assistance, throughout the day and night. Emily has a SAT s machine, and ventilator and requires her Support Worker to be fully awake during waking night shifts, to observe her whilst she is sleeping. There is a separate room with facilities for carers, so they can monitor her and her equipment through an audio monitor. Hours: A mixture of 3-4, 12-hour shifts (day and waking nights): 8.00am to 8.00pm and 8.00pm to 8.00am. Rota created a month in advance.

Someone who is willing to travel abroad for up to 3 weeks at a time would be great too! Flexibility to work the day and night shifts is important.
