Orleans Park School in Twickenham has retained its 'outstanding' Ofsted rating in a recent inspection.

The inspection took place in November 2023 and the report was published on 19 January 2024.

Orleans Park is a mixed comprehensive school for 11 to 18-year-olds.

The Ofsted report says: "Pupils thrive at this school. They are happy, safe, and achieve very well. Staff and pupils uphold the school values of 'responsibility', 'resilience', and 'respect'.

"By the end of Year 11, pupils are very well prepared for the next steps in their education, whether it be in the school's popular sixth form or elsewhere".

It adds that pupils at the school benefit from a broad and rich curriculum, enhanced by additional subjects such as astronomy and vocational courses in years nine, 10, and 11.

It says: "Pupils take great pride in their school. Pupils trust staff to always have their best interests at heart. Should bullying occur, it is taken seriously and dealt with quickly.

"Parents and carers who responded to the Ofsted survey were very positive about their child's education."

The report adds that the school has a very broad and ambitious curriculum for all pupils: "Teachers are very well informed about pupils' individual needs. As a result, they make appropriate adaptations to teaching and resources.

"For example, in languages, pupils have access to vocabulary glossaries, which they can use to build up their fluency"

"Leaders and teachers ensure that they have many opportunities for checking pupils' understanding.

"This includes the skillful use of questioning in lessons while teachers move around the room to check pupils' comprehension.

"If there are any gaps in learning, teachers will go over key knowledge to get pupils back on track. The school has high expectations for pupils' attendance at school. Leaders follow up any persistent absence robustly".

The Headteacher of the school, Kathy Pacey, said: "This achievement is a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and supportive parents".

"Receiving an "Outstanding" rating reflects the passion and commitment we have for providing an exceptional educational experience.

"It reaffirms our commitment to academic excellence, student well-being, and creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth and success".

She added: "Our students have played an integral role in creating a vibrant and positive learning community.

"Their enthusiasm for learning, resilience, and achievements have not gone unnoticed, and this rating is a celebration of their accomplishments.

"To our supportive parents and the wider community, thank you for your trust, collaboration, and encouragement.

"Your partnership has been invaluable in creating a school where students thrive academically and personally.

"While the "Outstanding" rating is a momentous achievement, it also inspires us to set new goals and continue our journey of excellence.

"We remain dedicated to providing an outstanding education that prepares our students for success in their future endeavors".
